Hi! I’m Brittany, and my story is quite simple….I love food and am a fitness enthusiast. I’m a Western alumni with a Bachelor of Science specializing in Nutrition and Dietetics, and my goal is to one day become a Registered Dietitian. To bring me one step closer to reaching this goal, I will be continuing my education at The University of Toronto in the fall to attain my Master of Public Health, specializing in Nutrition and Dietetics.
I am passionate about food and trying new things, and love to create healthy and delicious recipes using wholesome ingredients. I rarely make something by following a recipe exactly, if at all. Whenever I see a recipe that I want to try, I often think ‘how can I make this healthier’. Other times I just start experimenting by combining different ingredients together, using my nutrition knowledge, and hope for a delicious outcome. I love to promote healthy living, the motivation behind starting this site. It gives me somewhere to share all of my creations and nutrition knowledge with you!
Those that know me personally, know that I have become a lot healthier over the past few years. I lost a lot of weight (about 70 pounds) over the past 4 years or so. The best thing about this, is that I never went on any of those fad diets that you always hear about. I believe in everything in moderation. I believe in a well balanced diet consisting of whole foods, focusing on fresh, seasonal, locally grown, and minimally processed foods to encourage variety. A lot of people joke around and call me the energizer bunny because I seem to have an endless supply of energy. This is what happens, when you eat a balanced, wholesome diet.
